Quality Improvement

At Middlesex Health, we have a proud tradition of excellence and transparency.

In 2004, Middlesex Health* became one of the first hospitals in Connecticut to formally share data on the quality of our care. This was long before it was common for outside organizations to put out report cards on hospital performance.

Today, we continue to build on this history of honest communication, high quality care, and strong support for the communities we serve.

Quality Improvement at Middlesex Health

Continuous Quality Improvement

We have always been deeply committed to the practice of Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI). CQI is a method of evaluating how we deliver health care services. Simply put, it helps us constantly measure, analyze, and improve both the delivery and outcomes of care.

Transparency and Accountability

We believe that our patients and community deserve to know:

  • how we perform
  • how we compare to other health care providers

Once a year, several national organizations publish regulatory and proprietary reports on hospital performance. We invite you to review this information, which is available in the Quality Improvement, Patient Safety and Patient Satisfaction sections of this website.

We believe in making this information easy to access, as evidence of our commitment to both quality improvement and transparency with you—our patients and community.
