Dr. Margarita Hernandez is a clinical psychologist at the Middlesex Health Center for Behavioral Health's adult outpatient clinic. She is also a supervisor in the Middlesex Health Behavioral Health Sciences Doctoral Training Program.
Dr. Hernandez completed her doctoral internship at Connecticut Valley Hospital, which is accredited by the American Psychological Association. She earned her master's degree in psychology and doctorate in clinical psychology at Oklahoma State University (OSU). While at OSU, Dr. Hernandez was given the Outstanding Contribution to the Psychology Diversified Students Program and the Outstanding Contribution on Behalf of Hispanic American Graduate Students in Psychology awards. She was also recognized, for five consecutive years, by the National Hispanic Scholarship Fund.
Dr. Hernandez has extensive experience in both clinical and non-clinical settings. She has practiced in community mental health clinics, hospitals, private practices, and a correctional facility. Through her training and professional career, she has worked with a diverse population of children, adolescents, and adults. Dr. Hernandez provides a wide range of psychotherapy services - including individual, marriage, family, and group - as well as assessments for psychological, educational, neuropsychological, bariatric, disability, and immigration-related concerns.
She enjoys working with the multidisciplinary team at Middlesex Health and is enthusiastic about her supervisory role with the Doctoral Training Program.
