Hospital to Host Alzheimer's Caregiver Training Seminar

Middlesex Hospital will host a four-part, free-of-charge training program for caregivers, family and friends of people with Alzheimer’s Disease and other types of dementia.

The sessions will be held on Tuesdays, from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., on August 9, August 16, August 23 and August 30, 2016. The August 16 session will be held in the conference room of the Bengtson-Wood Building (across from the main entrance to the Hospital). All other sessions will be held in the Randy Goodwin, M.D. Conference Center on the first floor of the Hospital.

The sessions will focus on an overview of Alzheimer’s Disease and other dementias, and Alzheimer’s Association programs and services; communication techniques, behavioral challenges and strategies and safety; family dynamics, keeping caregivers healthy and community resources; and legal and financial issues.  Refreshments will be served.
