Morgellons
Description
An unexplained skin disorder that produces crawling sensations and skin sores.
Overview
Morgellons is a disease in which people firmly believe that they're infested by parasites, mites or worms or that fibers are in the skin.
Symptoms
Symptoms may include intense itching, sores, rashes, and a feeling that something is crawling on and under the skin. People with Morgellons disease might also have a depressed mood and a hard time focusing.
Treatments
Find a health care team that acknowledges the concerns, does a thorough examination and talks through treatment options. Options may include mental health therapy and medicines for delusions, anxiety or depression.
