Kayaking/Nature Immersion for Cancer Survivors
Join Kate Powers—naturalist, kayaker, and cancer survivor—for a leisurely paddle!
About this Event
Kate Powers—a local naturalist, kayaker, and cancer survivor—is hosting a day of kayaking and nature immersion just for cancer survivors. She will guide a leisurely paddle on the Black Hall River and out to the Great Island Salt Marsh Estuary.
The group will gather at Black Hall Outfitters at 132 Shore Road in Old Lyme at 10 am.
Highlights
- This event is FREE and lunch is included.
- Kayaks and all gear will be provided.
- Canoes will be available.
- No experience necessary!
Items to Bring
- Water bottle
- Sunscreen and/or sunhat
- Water shoes (if you have them)
After you register, you will receive a call from Kate at 860-550-4476. She will go over what you need to bring for the day and answer any questions you may have.

Please note: This event is open to cancer survivors who received treatment at Middlesex Health/Middlesex Hospital. We are unable to welcome additional guests. However, we invite you to learn more about our annual Survivors Day, which is open to survivors plus a guest!
