MIDDLETOWN — This year, the goPINK project raised more than $29,000 to support Middlesex Hospital Cancer Center patients who have breast cancer.

This month-long fundraising effort takes place annually in October and is in its eighth year. Throughout goPINK’s history, businesses, schools and local sports teams have collectively raised a total of $184,575—money that has been used to provide free integrative medicine therapy to more than 1,000 patients. This year’s fundraising events included the second annual fun run, a goPINK kickoff party at Baci Grill in Cromwell and the sale of T-shirts designed by a local high school student. Thirty-five local businesses participated, raising money for the cause.
