Hospital Restricts Visitors Due to Flu

Press Release, February 7, 2018

Due to the prevalence of the flu in Connecticut, Middlesex Hospital is now limiting who can visit patients at the Hospital.

These restrictions are effective immediately. Anyone with flu-like symptoms will not be allowed to visit patients at the Hospital. Symptoms can include having a fever, vomiting and coughing, diarrhea, body aches and headaches.

Only immediate family members or a designated support person may visit patients. Patients may only have a maximum of two visitors at a time, and no one under the age of 18 may visit patients unless special permission is granted.

Anyone who visits a patient at the Hospital must clean their hands.

Middlesex Hospital is restricting visitors for the safety of its patients, staff and guests. The flu is a serious illness that should not be ignored. If you have not received a flu shot, the Hospital encourages you to do so. If you have the flu, please stay home and rest.
