Middlesex Named Most Wired for Sixth Consecutive Year
MIDDLETOWN — Middlesex Hospital was named “most wired” again this year by “Hospitals & Health Networks,” the journal of the American Hospital Association. This is the sixth consecutive year the Hospital has received this honor.
The honor is based on an annual most wired survey that is designed to measure the level of information technology adoption in U.S. hospitals and health systems. The survey serves as a tool for hospital and health system leadership as they look to improve their information technology strategic plans. It can help hospitals, such as Middlesex, better leverage information technology to improve patient care and efficiency.
“Hospitals & Health Networks” began recognizing the most wired hospital and health systems in 1999, and it assesses hospitals and health systems on progress in adoption, implementation and use of information technology in the following areas: infrastructure; business and administrative management; hospital impatient and outpatient clinical quality and safety; and ambulatory, physician and community clinical integration.
Middlesex Hospital takes great pride in using the most modern and sophisticated technology, and its Informational Technology Department works hard each day to make sure that it uses its technology efficiently and that it works as intended.
“We’re thrilled with Middlesex’s sixth consecutive most wired award,” says Evan Jackson, the Hospital’s chief information officer. “It really highlights our long-standing commitment to leverage the best possible technology to improve the health of our community.”
