Pentimento Exhibit to be Featured at Zahn Community Gallery
On September 13 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., the Valentine H. Zahn Community Gallery will hold a reception for a new exhibit that will feature Pentimento.
Pentimento is an informal group of painters who get together regularly to paint and share ideas, inspiration, information, methods and assessments, along with stories and laughter.
In painting, pentimento is a visible trace of earlier images that were painted over, indicating that an artist changed their mind. It draws the viewer’s attention to the process of creating.
This exhibit’s reception, sponsored by Guilford Savings Bank, will include wine and hors d’oeuvres. It is free and open to the public.
The gallery is located at the Middlesex Hospital Shoreline Medical Center in Westbrook. The exhibit will be on display September 6 through October 26 during regular business hours.
