Middlesex Hospital Hospice Program Recognized For Care For Veterans

March 1, 2016

The Middlesex Hospital Hospice and Palliative Care Program has received Level One recognition, as part of the We Honor Veterans program. We Honor Veterans is a national hospice provider campaign, conducted by the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization, in collaboration with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

We Honor Veterans provides tiered recognition to organizations, known as Partners, that demonstrate a systematic commitment to improving care for veterans. Partner organizations assess their ability to serve veterans and, using resources provided as part of the program, integrate best practices for providing end-of-life care to veterans.

For a hospice program, earning this recognition allows VA staff and veterans to easily identify hospices that have made a commitment to offer veteran-specific care and services, provided by competent and skilled end-of-life care professionals.
