Dr. Kristy Mascarenhas is a fellowship-trained ophthalmologist at Middlesex Eye Physicians in Middletown and Westbrook, CT.
Dr. Mascarenhas is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. She completed a glaucoma fellowship at Yale University, where she became just the second eye surgeon in Connecticut to be trained in Trabectome minimally invasive glaucoma surgery. Dr. Mascarenhas performed her residency in ophthalmology at New York University/Manhattan Eye, Ear, and Throat Hospital, after completing an internal medicine residency at Georgetown University Hospital. She earned her medical degree at the New York University School of Medicine after graduating with a B.A. with distinction in Spanish from Yale University.
Dr. Mascarenhas continues to expand her training and expertise to be able to offer the most innovative glaucoma surgeries and laser procedures to her patients. She has a special interest in imaging of the optic nerve, as well as the impact of glaucoma and glaucoma treatment on her patients' quality of life. She is also a member of multiple professional societies and serves as a volunteer faculty member at the Yale University School of Medicine.
