goPINK to Kick Off Annual Campaign With Downtown Waddle
MIDDLETOWN — This year’s goPINK fundraising campaign kicks off on October 4 with a new event — the Downtown Waddle.
For this special event, goPINK has partnered with several businesses on Main Street in Middletown. The businesses will offer a special promotion or discount on October 4 between 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. to those who purchase Downtown Waddle tickets. Proceeds benefit goPINK.
Downtown Waddle tickets are $25 for adults and $10 for children. To learn what businesses are participating and to purchase a ticket, visit MiddlesexHealth.org/Waddle.
Returning this year is “What The Duck?” Introduced in 2022, goPINK collaborates with the City of Middletown, the Middletown Downtown Business District, the Middlesex County Chamber of Commerce and Middlesex Health Cancer Center to raise money for cancer patients. More than 40 business in Middletown and throughout Middlesex County purchased and decorated wooden ducks to help raise awareness of early cancer detection. The ducks will be on display in downtown Middletown October 1 through October 31. Members of the public will be able to vote for their favorite duck and will be entered to win prizes.
In addition, there are other ways to support goPINK.
You can make a general donation. All support is welcome. Local businesses and schools will also raise money for goPINK throughout the month of October.
Over its 14-year history, goPINK has raised more than $395,000 for Middlesex Health Cancer Center. All proceeds help cancer patients receive free integrative medicine therapy, including patients who have breast cancer.
Integrative medicine includes massage therapy, reflexology and acupuncture. These are therapies that are not covered by insurance, and they help patients with symptoms of cancer treatment, including fatigue, pain and even nausea.
