Middlesex Health Hospice Seeks Veterans Who Want to Volunteer

Press Release, July 29, 2022

MIDDLETOWN — If you are a military veteran, Middlesex Health’s Hospice Program needs you!

As part of its We Honor Veterans Program, the health system’s Hospice Program is looking for military veterans to support other veterans who receive medical care in homecare or nursing home settings throughout greater Middlesex County. Hospice volunteers are a valued and integral part of the Hospice Program, and they work with patients and their families as they cope with the challenges of terminal illness.

Training for the next group of Middlesex Health Hospice Program volunteers is scheduled for four consecutive Wednesdays in September: September 7, September 14, September 21 and September 28. Training sessions will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Middlesex Hospital or via Zoom, depending on COVID-19 protocols at the time of training. These training sessions are mandatory for all volunteers, along with the completion of six online training modules and a mentoring period.

For more information, contact Diane Santostefano, Middlesex Health’s hospice volunteer coordinator, at 860-358-6955.
