Medical Explorers

Middlesex Health Medical Explorers is an initiative under Middlesex Health's DRIVE (Diversity, Respect. Inclusion. Value. Equity) Change Committee. Black, Indigenous and Latino/a individuals are extremely underrepresented in health care professions in the United States, which contributes to health disparities for people of color.

To address this lack of representation, Middlesex Health is offering a targeted Medical Explorers Program to create opportunities where Black, Indigenous and Latino/a students can explore a wide range of careers in health care and consider a future career as a health care professional. Medical Explorers engage in an interactive learning experience and are guided through a simulated patient case as it moves along the hospital system.

Program eligibility: Black, Indigenous and Latino/a students who are in grades 7 - 12 or recent high school graduates who are interested in learning about a variety of health care fields.
