Connect with individuals who have lost loved ones as well, and learn from their experiences to find ways that may help you in your own journey of grief. Grieving is a journey that unfolds at its own pace. It’s important to be patient with yourself along the way. Healing takes time and cannot be rushed; there’s no set timeline for grief. Some may begin to feel better relatively quickly, while for others, the process may take much longer. Regardless of how long it takes, it’s crucial to treat yourself with loving kindness as you navigate through your grief. Allow yourself to experience the process naturally, without pressure or expectations.
This presentation will help you:
- Face your feelings
- Express your feelings in a tangible or creative way
- Realize the importance of looking after your physical health
- Plan ahead for grief “activators”
- Meet others who are in similar circumstances
Explore the benefits of integrative approaches. Incorporating alternative therapies can enhance the healing process by fostering self-compassion through the reinforcement of a strong support system. This is a free event and open to the public, but registration is required.

The Randy Goodwin Conference Center is located on the main floor of Middlesex Hospital. When you enter the hospital through the Lobby, walk towards the back left side of the Lobby, following signs for Patient Registration and the South Elevators. Turn right down the hallway; the conference room is located on the right hand side.
Parking
Middlesex Hospital offers a large, free parking lot that is accessible from Crescent St. or from South Main St.
*Please note that Crescent St. is one-way. You MUST enter Crescent St. from South Main St. You CANNOT turn onto Crescent St. from Main St. Extension, which runs between One MacDonough Place and the Emergency Department.
