Middlesex Health Primary Care Adds New Office
Middlesex Health Primary Care recently opened a second office in Madison, adding two physicians and two advanced practice providers to its growing network.
With the opening of this new office, Middlesex Health Primary Care now has about 60 providers. They span 12 offices located throughout Middlesex and New Haven Counties and the Connecticut shoreline.
The new Madison office, located at 1353 Boston Post Road, is possible because Middlesex Health acquired the personnel and assets of Shoreline Medical Associates after the retirement of its leader, long-time physician assistant Joseph Slater. The acquisition allowed employees of Shoreline Medical Associates to continue their outstanding personalized patient service. In turn, Middlesex Health Primary Care is able to expand its services.
Dr. Elin Christensen and Dr. Jennifer Swenson, both formerly of Shoreline Medical Associates, will work in Middlesex’s new Madison office, along with Emily Miesse, an advanced practice registered nurse, and Susanne Scofield-Hinton, a physician assistant. Middlesex also hired the practice’s support staff. They are now Middlesex employees.
The goal is to minimize any disruption for patients, says David Gladstone, executive director of practice administration for Middlesex Health Middlesex Medical Group.
To help manage patient volume, it also added two nurses and is expanding the office’s square footage by renting adjoining space.
“Middlesex has a very good primary care base,” Gladstone says. “We are always looking for opportunities to grow and improve what we have to offer. Acquiring Shoreline Medical Associates made sense for both parties, and we are so pleased to welcome our new providers and their staff members.”
