Dr. David B. Parmelee graduated from Guilford High School with honors and continued his studies at the University of Vermont majoring in biology/pre-med. He spent two years as a research assistant at the Yale School of Medicine before attending medical school at the University of Osteopathic Medicine and Health Sciences in Des Moines, Iowa.

Dr. Parmelee graduated in the top 10 percent of his class with a Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.). D.O.'s have been specifically trained to treat the patient as a "total person" and focus on preventative care. In addition to comprehensive medical care for his patients, Dr. Parmelee's unique training as an osteopathic physician gives him the added expertise of manipulative therapy for patients suffering with muscular skeletal issues.

Dr. Parmelee completed his residency in family practice at Middlesex Hospital in Middletown, CT and is board certified by the American Academy of Family Medicine. He has been working in primary care with patients of all ages for over 20 years. Dr. Parmelee is popular with his patients for his listening skills, his compassionate nature and exceptional bedside manner.
