Bio
Michael Crain, MD is a fellowship-trained radiologist at Radiologic Associates of Middletown (RAM) and Middlesex Health.
Dr. Crain is certified by the American Board of Radiology in Diagnostic Radiology. He completed his fellowship on Cross-Sectional Imaging at the George Washington University Medical Center, where he also performed his residency. Dr. Crain completed his internship at the Jersey Shore Medical Center and earned his medical degree from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Prior to attending medical school, he spent a year as a Research Assistant in the Neuroscience Department of Children's Hospital Medical Center at Harvard University.
Dr. Crain served as the Chairman of the Department of Radiology at Middlesex Health as well as the President and CEO of RAM for ten years, from 2010 to 2020. He was instrumental in founding Lung Cancer Screening, 3D Tomosynthesis Mammography, Prostate Screening & Targeted Biopsy, and Pancreatic Cancer Screening at Middlesex. Dr. Crain now serves as the President of the Radiological Society of Connecticut and is working to provide life-saving screening exams to the underserved people of Connecticut. He is also the Executive Director of a non-profit organization to promote compassionate healthcare, "The Patient Is U Foundation," at www.TPIU.org. Dr. Crain is a member of the American College of Radiology and the Radiological Society of North America.
