Choosing Wisely Initiative

Choosing Wisely is an initiative of the American Board of Internal Medicine Foundation to address the appropriateness of tests and procedures, and support provider efforts to help patients make smart and effective care choices. The initiative focuses on promoting conversation between patients and providers to select care that is necessary, based on evidence, and not harmful. It is as much about improving safety and quality as it is about reducing unnecessary tests.
