Surgery can be an important part of making a cancer diagnosis, and it is often the first step of a cancer treatment plan that also includes radiation therapy and/or medical oncology. Whether your surgery is intended to cure your cancer or to alleviate pain and other symptoms, our dedicated, board-certified surgeons will work closely with your entire care team to reach the best possible outcomes.
Surgical methods for diagnosing and treating cancer vary greatly by cancer type - use the links below to access our Cancer Type pages, where you can read about surgical treatments for each cancer site. You can also visit the Center for Advanced Surgery to learn more about our gynecological oncology, thoracic oncology, and da Vinci® Robot-Assisted surgery for certain cancers.
