Discounted Premiums
If you complete a biometric screening during your physical, you are eligible for discounted rates on health insurance premiums. This means you will get money back in your paycheck for looking after yourself!
Employee Assistance Program
At Middlesex Health, we know that our employees are our most valuable asset. But, we also know that life presents challenges— that is why Middlesex Health offers two different employee assistance programs to provide you and your loved one's support and guidance through those uncertain times.
ACI Specialty Benefits Employee Assistance Program
This program is available as part of your benefits package and allows employees up to 3 telephonic sessions. ACI is limited to employees only and not for non-employed medical staff. Learn more

A free service offered by the Middlesex Health for employees and/or their immediate family members. EA offers up to four sessions to assess your concerns, provide counseling, and, if necessary, refer you to community resources. Learn more

Middletown YMCA Discount

Full Fitness Membership: You plan to exercise two or more times a week. You are interested in using the YMCA pools and cardio and weight training equipment. You like to participate in fitness classes, enjoy the sauna, and have access to basketball and racquetball courts and general locker rooms.
Fit Plus Membership: You want an adults-only facility with the use of a whirlpool & steam room, locker rooms with amenities and towel service, and an additional workout area, as well as access to the facilities listed under Full Fitness Membership.

Grief Yoga
Our Grief Yoga classes offer a compassionate space for healing and self-care through gentle yoga and mindfulness practices. Designed specifically for those navigating loss, these classes provide a supportive environment to explore and release emotions, reduce stress, and find inner peace. Led by experienced instructors trained in grief support, each session integrates therapeutic techniques to help you process your grief while fostering physical and emotional well-being. Journey
Our employees and their dependents receive the Proactive Mental Health Program at no cost as part of their health and wellness benefits. They provide employees with a variety of videos that range from different topics and teaching styles to assist them in achieving their objectives, regardless of where they are in life. Non-employed medical staff would need to sign up for this program by emailing human resources.
Lactation Rooms
We have two lactation rooms for employees. Both rooms include a mini fridge, sink, and a medela symphony hospital-grade pump. Employees can also join our breastfeeding support group weekly on Tuesdays.
The first room is located on the third floor of the hospital. (Make an immediate left out of the main elevators onto third floor and it is located in the hallway).
The second room is located on the third floor of the Crescent Center for Mental Health at 1 Macdonough Place.
Lifestyle Medicine
Middlesex Health Lifestyle Medicine focuses on six areas in which patients can improve their health: Nutrition, Physical Activity, Relationships, Stress Reduction, Sleep, and Use of Risky Substances. We believe that every person can take steps to achieve their wellness goals, and our board-certified lifestyle medicine clinicians will guide you every step of the way.
Middlesex Health Center for Mindfulness & Compassion
This group provides mindfulness education and training to staff and community members to promote ongoing personal development in a safe and supportive environment with special attention to employee satisfaction and community outreach.

The Holistic CARE Team (HCT) is committed to fostering relationship-centered care by embracing an interdisciplinary philosophy of holism. Peer To Peer
The purpose of the Peer to Peer Support Program is to provide support to colleagues following traumatic or stressful workplace events. Working in health care increases the risk that one will be exposed to many difficult experiences and situations. However, with the proper support, nurses can minimize the effects of these events and continue to provide compassionate care to patients and their families. Preventive Exam Credits
We want you to be your best for the long run, whether kicking your smoking habit or following up with routine wellness screenings. You can receive discount credit for the cafeteria or cash for the Middlesex Health gift shop by completing the following:
- Colonoscopy Screening (age 50 or older, no more than one per year) $100 credit.
- Routine Mammography Screening (age 40 or older, one per year) $20 credit.
- Bone Density Screening (age 60 or older, one every 23 months) $30 credit.
- Smoking Cessation Program (smoke free for six months) $50 credit offered once.

- Shoreline Medical Center
The credit is only available for benefit-eligible employees of Middlesex Health System. However, you do not need to receive your medical insurance through Middlesex Hospital to qualify for these credits.
When you have an eligible procedure performed at one of the qualifying Middlesex Health facilities, you need to fill out a Preventive Procedure Credit Form. The Benefits team will check to see if you match the requirements and will send you a certificate for the credits you've earned.

Rejuvenation Station
Middlesex Health's Rejuvenation Station provides a calming place for staff to relax and recover. The room features a massage chair, zero-gravity chairs, salt lamps, and calming music. Staff can access the wellness room 24/7. The room is located in the hallway of North 2, just down the hall from the CCU entrance.
Schwartz Rounds
Monthly meetings that allow health care providers a regularly scheduled time to openly and honestly share and discuss the social and emotional issues they face in caring for patients and families. Spiritual Care
At Middlesex Health, we are committed to providing compassionate care that respects the beliefs and needs of each person. Therefore, our spiritual care department supports patients, their loved ones, hospital employees, and volunteers as they cope with the emotional and spiritual impact of illness, injury, or crisis.
Walk With A Doc
Is there an area of medicine you’re interested in learning more about? Walk with one of your colleagues and learn from their expertise while becoming more physically active. The free Walk With a Doc program creates a supporting and encouraging social group where you can learn more about your health and wellness.

Wellness Rewards Program
The Wellness Rewards Program is an incentive program sponsored by Employee Health and Wellness for all employees. Designed to reward each employee for taking personal responsibility in maintaining their health and wellness.

5 hours of activity = 10 Points
50 points = $10.00 gift card
