Middlesex Health Paramedic Education Program

EMS

Apply by April 17 for the first cohort! Classes begin on May 6.

Middlesex Health’s Paramedic Education Program is a 60-week course designed to prepare EMTs with the skills necessary to successfully enter the workforce as confident and competent paramedics.

Classes are taught by experienced EMS educators and subject matter experts with real-world experience. Simulation is utilized in the laboratory to reinforce classroom learning in a realistic environment.  Knowledge and skills acquired in the laboratory and classroom are further applied during clinical rotations within the Health System, including field experience with Middlesex Paramedics.  A Capstone Field Internship will be completed during the final module of the course, either with Middlesex Paramedics or with our partners around the state.

Classes will be held in the evening on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at Middlesex Health's main campus - 28 Crescent St, Middletown, CT.

At the conclusion of the program, students will be eligible for national paramedic credentialing through the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians.

Accreditation

The Middlesex Health Paramedic Education Program has been issued a Letter of Review by the Committee on Accreditation of Educational Programs for the Emergency Medical Services Professions (CoAEMSP). This letter is NOT a CAAHEP accreditation status, it is a status signifying that a program seeking initial accreditation has demonstrated sufficient compliance with the accreditation standards through the Letter of Review Self-Study Report (LSSR) and other documentation. Letter of Review is recognized by the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) for eligibility to take the National Registry's Paramedic credentialing examination(s). However, it is NOT a guarantee of eventual accreditation.
