Eating well is one of the best ways to support the body before, during, and after cancer treatment—and your needs will likely change throughout your cancer journey. Our certified oncology dietitians work closely with your physicians and our entire multidisciplinary team to ensure that nutrition services are integrated seamlessly into your treatment program.
Nutrition plays an important role during and after cancer treatments. After cancer treatments, it's important to pick up healthy habits to maintain a healthy weight. Good habits also help rebuild muscle loss, promote bone health, and improve overall quality of life.
Plant-based foods such as fruits, vegetables, legumes, nuts, and whole grains are packed with nutrition. Eating a mostly plant-based diet will help you reach these goals and can help reduce your risk of developing another cancer.
You can learn more about eating a plant-based diet and see some meal and snack ideas by watching the presentation below, hosted by Middlesex Health's two oncology dietitians.
