Integrative Medicine

After playing 18 holes, a massage might feel good, or maybe you could use a little help dealing with the physical and emotional symptoms of a chronic condition. Middlesex Health can help.

The Middlesex Health Burris Center for Integrative Medicine, located at 540 Saybrook Road in Middletown, is now open.

Middlesex Health has offered integrative medicine services for many years. This, however, is an expansion that allows all services to now be offered at one Middletown location with ample space.

The health system continues to also offer Integrative medicine services at 250 Flat Rock Place in Westbrook.

Integrative medicine is a holistic medical approach that takes into account your lifestyle habits. The mind, body and soul are taken into consideration to promote health and well-being.

The services offered aim to address both physical and emotional symptoms of chronic conditions, such as digestive disorders and diabetes. It can also alleviate pain associated with cancer therapy and alleviate general symptoms of stress and anxiety. The goal is to help a person feel well in mind, body and spirit. Services offered include, acupuncture, reflexology, massage, nutrition counseling, lifestyle medicine, mental wellness and osteopathic medicine.

The new space in Middletown features treatment rooms for various modalities, mental wellness consultations and nutrition counseling and a larger room for a variety of group programs.

Integrative therapy is not always covered by medical insurance. Anyone can make an appointment to benefit from the therapies offered. You do not need a referral from a medical provider.
