A Culture Of Gratitude

In honor of Nurse's Week, some of our nurses took the time to deliver a special shoutout to one of their coworkers. An abridged version of this video was shown during the Nursing Annual Meeting.

Nurses Making a Difference in our Community & Beyond

Standing up for Workplace Violence
workplace

Middlesex and other CT hospitals participated in a forum at the State Capitol on March 13, 2023, to advocate and support HB 6741, An Act Improving The Safety Of Health Care Providers And Patients. The bill was proposed by Sen. Martin and raised by the Public Health Committee in an effort to stop the growing violence against healthcare workers. Jennifer Woynar & Lindsey Downing attended in person, and Kelly Haeckel, Cheryl Mohrlein, Micah Greene, and Renee Hastings participated virtually. Jen testified and shared her story, and Micah submitted a testimony of her experience.

Supporting Ukraine Children
Mitten

Middlesex held a Hat and Mitten drive for the children of Ukraine. This population health initiative focused on optimizing the health of young children that live in Ukraine. Due to the ongoing conflicts and destruction on power grids, hypothermia and frostbite have become serious population health concerns. The outpouring of love and support from our Middlesex employees and the community was beautiful to see.

Wreaths Across America

Surgical Services recently collected more than $300 for the Wreath Across America project. They were able to sponsor 22 wreaths, which were placed on the graves of soldiers at the Middletown Veterans Cemetery earlier this month. Many families participated in this solemn event, including some staff from Middlesex Health Surgical Services.
