Acute myeloid leukemia

Overview

p>Acute myeloid leukemia, also called acute myelogenous leukemia, is a cancer of the blood and bone marrow. It progresses rapidly, affecting the white blood cells, called myeloid cells, which normally develop into mature red cells, white cells, and platelets.

Treatments

Treatments include chemotherapy, other drug therapy, and stem cell transplants.
