Bacterial vaginosis

Overview

Bacterial vaginosis is an inflammation of the vagina due to overgrowth of bacteria normally present in the vagina. It tends to affect women of childbearing age.

Treatments

Treatment can include prescription cream, gel, or medication. Recurrence within 3 to 12 months is common, requiring additional treatment.
