Self-care options include over-the-counter antiperspirants and deodorants and regular bathing with antibacterial soap. Avoidance of spicy foods and caffeinated beverages may help.

When to make a doctor's appointment

See a doctor if:

  • Change in sweating pattern, including excessive perspiration or little or no perspiration
  • Changes in body odor
  • Disruption of daily routine
  • Unexplained night sweats
