Broken nose

Overview

A broken nose is a break or crack in a bone in the nose. Possible causes include a sports injury, an accident or a fight.

Symptoms

The nose may look crooked. Swelling, tenderness, black eyes and difficulty breathing through the nose may all be signs of a fracture.

Treatments

Treatment may involve splinting and putting the nose back into alignment of the nose by hand or through surgery.
