Burning feet syndrome

Overview

Burning feet syndrome is the sensation of painful, burning feet. Persistent burning feet may be due to nerve damage from diabetes or alcohol use.

Symptoms

There may be a feeling of pins and needles, numbness, or both. The sensation may occur for a short time when feet are tired.

Treatments

Treatment must address underlying conditions.
