In cases involving seizure disorders, wearing a medical bracelet listing contacts, medications, and drug allergies can help medical personnel during an emergency.

When to seek immediate medical care

See a doctor immediately if:

  • Lasts more than five minutes
  • Immediately followed by a second episode
  • First convulsion, or seizure
  • Pregnant, injured, or diabetic
  • Abnormal behavior after convulsion

When to make a doctor's appointment

Make an appointment to see a doctor if:

  • Any seizure occurs
