Coronary artery disease

Overview

Coronary artery disease is damage to or disease in the heart's major blood vessels. The usual cause is the buildup of plaque. This causes coronary arteries to narrow, limiting blood flow to the heart.

Symptoms

Coronary artery disease can lead to chest pain and a heart attack.

Treatments

Treatments include lifestyle changes, medications, and surgery.
