Erysipelas

Overview

Erysipelas is a skin infection that occurs mainly on the face and legs. The infection can be caused by bacteria entering a cut.

Symptoms

The skin may be painful, warm, red and swollen, and may have a raised border. Other symptoms include blisters, fever and chills.

Treatments

Treatment involves antibiotics.
