First trimester pregnancy

The first trimester is a time of adapting to the growing pregnancy.

Pregnant women may experience breast tenderness, nausea, more frequent urination, fatigue, and emotional ups and downs. The fetal brain, spinal cord, and other organs begin to develop, and a fetal heartbeat can be seen on ultrasound.

Health care providers can help plan for a healthy pregnancy and delivery.
