Gastroenteritis

Overview

Stomach flu (gastroenteritis) is an infection typically spread by contact with an infected person or through contaminated food or water.

Symptoms

It's usually marked by diarrhea, cramps in the belly, nausea, vomiting, and sometimes fever.

Treatments

Avoiding contaminated food and water and washing hands often can help prevent infection.
