Gout

Overview

Gout is a complex form of arthritis caused by too much uric acid that crystallizes and is deposited in joints.

Symptoms

It causes severe pain, redness, and tenderness in joints, usually in the big toe. Attacks come suddenly and without warning, often at night.

Treatments

Gout can be controlled with drugs and diet.
