Group A streptococcal infection

Overview

Group A streptococcal infections are infections caused by group A streptococcus. This type of strep causes conditions including strep throat, scarlet fever and toxic shock syndrome.

Symptoms

Symptoms vary but may include pain, fever, aches and swollen lymph nodes.

Treatments

The main treatment is antibiotics.
