Heart valve disease

Overview

Heart valve disease is any condition that prevents a heart valve from working properly.

Stenosis is a condition in which a valve doesn't open properly. Regurgitation occurs when a valve doesn't close properly and can leak.

Treatments

Heart valve surgery may be needed.
