Hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis

Overview

Hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis is a condition in which a buildup of white blood cells harms the liver and spleen. The condition mostly affects infants and children. It may be inherited or result from infection.

Symptoms

Symptoms include fever, rash, and seizures.

Treatments

Treatments include medications, chemotherapy, and stem cell transplantation.
