Lactic acidosis

Overview

Lactic acidosis occurs when lactic acid builds up in the blood faster than it's removed. Lactic acidosis can occur after intense exercise or due to acute loss of circulation to the intestine, or kidney failure.

Symptoms

Symptoms include those of the triggering condition, rapid breathing, and nausea.

Treatments

Treatment addresses the underlying condition.
