Melanoma

Overview

Melanoma is the most serious type of skin cancer. It occurs when something goes wrong in the pigment-producing cells that give color to the skin.

Symptoms

Melanomas can occur anywhere on the body. Signs might include a new, unusual growth or a change in an existing mole.

Treatments

Treatment may involve surgery, radiation, or chemotherapy.
