Myopia

Description

A condition in which close objects appear in focus, but far ones don't. Also called nearsightedness.

Overview

Nearsightedness, also called myopia, is an eye condition in which someone can see close items in focus, but faraway objects appear blurry. Nearsightedness tends to run in families. The condition may develop gradually or rapidly.

Treatments

Treatment options include eyeglasses, contact lenses and surgery such as LASEK.
