Pancytopenia

Overview

In pancytopenia, the blood has fewer red cells, white cells, and platelets than normal. It often occurs when cancer or infection keeps the bone marrow from normal production of these cells.

Symptoms

Symptoms include fatigue, shortness of breath, and paleness.

Treatments

Treatment depends on the underlying condition.
