Overview

Bubble boy disease (severe combined immunodeficiency) is a serious, inherited inability of the immune system to fight even mild infections.

Symptoms

Signs include frequent respiratory infections, poor growth, and rashes.

Treatments

The only typically available cure is a bone marrow transplant.
