Self-care options include a consistent sleep schedule and relaxing activities before bedtime. Avoidance of heavy meals and alcoholic drinks before sleep may help.
When to make a doctor's appointment
See a doctor if:
- Daytime irritability or sleepiness
- Loud, chronic snoring
- Pauses in breathing during sleep
- Trouble falling asleep
