Description

A sudden blast of air or mucus from the mouth and nose from something irritating the nose.

Self-care

Medicines to control sneezing include decongestants, antihistamines and nasal sprays. Staying away from triggers, such as pollen, can help sneezing caused by allergies.

See a health care provider for:

  • No effects from home treatments.
  • Worsening symptoms.
  • New symptoms, such as fever, chills or sinus pain.
