Supraventricular tachycardia

Supraventricular tachycardia is an abnormally fast heart rate starting above the heart's 2 lower chambers (ventricles). It's caused by abnormal circuitry in the heart, usually present at birth.

There may be symptoms like heart palpitations or no symptoms at all.

Certain maneuvers, medications, or implanted devices can help slow the heart.
