Overview

Vaginitis is an inflammation of the vagina, usually caused by a change in the normal balance of vaginal bacteria, an infection or reduced estrogen levels after menopause.

Symptoms

Symptoms include an unusual vaginal discharge, itching or irritation, painful urination and pain during intercourse.

Treatments

Treatment usually involves medication.
