Sit down right away, rise slowly when getting up, and if needed for balance, consider using a cane.

When to seek immediate medical care

See a doctor immediately if:

  • Fever
  • Vision problems, hearing loss, or difficulty speaking
  • Leg or arm weakness or numbness
  • Falling or difficulty walking
  • New headache

When to make a doctor's appointment

Make an appointment to see a doctor if:

  • Gets worse
  • Can't perform daily tasks
