Day Treatment Programs

Our day treatment programs offer highly-structured treatment plans for adults and older adults. The goal of these programs is to decrease symptoms and promote recovery. All care—from group therapy to family sessions and medication management—is provided by our team of experts, which includes psychiatrists, APRNs, nurses, and counselors.

We offer three different types of Day Treatment Programs:

Dual Diagnosis  Intensive Outpatient Program - An intensive three-day-per-week program for patients who are in treatment for both mental health and substance use disorders.

Senior Intensive Outpatient Program - An intensive three-day-per-week program intended for seniors (age 65+) who are in need of mental health support.

Each patient will have access to the care they need while in any of our programs  This may include:

  • Care management
  • Family therapy
  • Group therapy
  • Medication management
  • Occupational therapy
  • Ongoing psychiatric evaluation
  • Recreational therapy

Evening Recovery Program

We honor and respect that there are many paths to recovery from addiction—and we're here to help you find yours.

The Evening Recovery Program (ERP) is an intensive treatment service for people living with addiction.

We offer individualized care focused on treating the whole person - mind, body, and spirit. We can help you develop the skills needed to cope with addiction and the difficult issues that arise during recovery. This may include addressing underlying mental health issues and providing services for families and support persons.

The program is open to anyone who is on the path to recovery from addiction or is ready to take the first steps. We have helped patients recover from many different types of addiction, including:

  • Alcohol
  • Amphetamine
  • Cocaine
  • Hallucinogens, such as LSD and PCP
  • Opioids/Opiates
  • Sedatives/Hypnotics (benzodiazepines)

The Evening Recovery Program meets Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. We accept all major insurances, including Medicaid. However, please check with your individual insurance provider for specific information. If you do not have insurance or are concerned about cost, we can connect you with the Middlesex Health Financial Assistance Program.

Young Adult Services

Young Adult Services (YAS) at Middlesex Health is an intensive outpatient program designed to address issues with commonly impact young adults (ages 18-25), including relationship stress, family dynamics, depression, substance use, as well as challenges with work and school.

Treatment is individual to each person’s needs and focuses on developing a strong community, social, and nontraditional support. It is intended for those who need more than just once per week office-based treatment but also want to maintain their independence and connection to current activities (work, school, friends, etc).

Treatment includes group therapy, individual therapy sessions, education, family counseling, as well as psychiatric evaluation with ongoing medication management. This program is designed to offer intensive treatment and increased support over the course of 4-6 weeks on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 5 p.m. - 8 p.m.
